The Danger of Broken Toys

We have all done it and likely are still doing it.  We look at the toy with a hole in it, the tennis ball broken in half,  the ball that comes of the rope, or the stuffed toy with the head missing and think he still plays with it why throw it away.

Well, throw them away, because they are dangerous.  And this could happen. Dog Dies After Playing With Popular Chew Toy

This occurred because the owner let the dog play with a broken toy.  The ball had come off the toy and the owner let the dog keep the ball.  Kong did not design the ball to be a stand-alone toy.   Because there was only one hole it the ball a vacuum can occur trapping the ball onto the dog.  Sadly, in this case, it was the dog’s tongue.

We always thought this won’t happen to my dog but then we got lucky and the problem with a broken toy happened in our view.

We let Titan play with this broken Jumbler for three months, then one Sunday, his bottom jaw got stuck inside it.    There was no suction but Titan started to panic.  Who knows what would have happened if we hadn’t been there it help him out.

So, a reminder to everyone. Toys should be discarded when damaged because they are no longer safe.
